The glory of handmade art |
Mother-Daughter team Lynn Walter and Katie Menges have been working together for the past 6 years, creating handmade art for every season. After learning how to make Pysanky eggs, Lynn and Katie formed the alias "Red Hen Art," because they loved working with brown eggs from local hens.
Although eggs are most popular around Christmas and Easter, we have also created Pysanka for a variety of other occasions. This year Katie and Lynn have branched out: we now create other types of ornaments in addition to the Pysanky eggs. Lynn makes (nearly) indestructable ornaments out of cloth, and Katie makes sterling silver earrings. |
Each pair of earrings is slightly different, but every pair is made with the finest materials: Sterling silver wire and ear hooks, vintage beads, semi-precious stones, cut glass, swarovski crystals, and more.
|
All earrings are also available with stainless steel ear hooks, for those with allergies to Sterling silver.
For custom pieces or additional information, please contact Katie Menges. |
Psanky OrnamentsPysanka (plural: pysanky) is the Ukrainian art of using the wax-resist method to decorate eggs.
These ornaments are lightweight and reinforced for durability. Although delicate, these ornaments do not result in dangerous slivers of glass in the event of breakage. This makes them ideal for people with pets or small children. |
